Work Permit extension - when can you apply?

My Work Permit (Open Work Permit / Post-Graduate Work Permit) is valid till March 2024 - so 1 year 1 month more to do. I am wondering when can I extend the work permit? Obviously I cannot do it right away as I have more than 1 year to go, but I am wondering can I apply 3 months before it expires? What is the max time frame from when I can apply?

Also what is the probability of them extending my work permit? I was given a 3 year work permit on March 2021. I have consistently held job here (except a 4 months period when I was in my home country).

How are you eligible to extend work permit? You would only be eligible if you a) get ITA in EE and have AOR and can apply for BOWP, b) PNP and are eligible for a work permit or c) have an approved LMIA from your employer and apply for a closed work permit.

PGWPs are only issued once and not extended unless for certain circumstances like COVID..
