Thank you. I hope i don't have to wait long for this virtual date. Are virtual date more difficult to get? Have you heard?Anyone from this group has any idea how long they take to reschedule
any kind of rescheduling would add time, whether a special request for virtual date or in-person date. after that, yes it takes much longer for you to receive your citizenship certificates (in mail) if you've gone virtual whereas for in-person ceremonies, we get certificates there n then.

Guys, my test window is Feb 3rd to Feb 23rd, my concern is, we will be traveling outside Canada for most of March. With the current trend, I am seeing people on an average are getting their oath ceremony invite in about a month. I am concerned what if we receive the oath ceremony while we are still outside Canada.

@azamat277 - Did you receive your oath ceremony invite yet?
Not yet. I think it takes around 2 months (after DM) for Kitchener office to send out the invite.

Hi guys I am an October applicant, just wondering if anyone here had the same scenario before? How long did you wait until you received test invite?

I received an email yesterday, asking for my police certificate. However I attached mine when I sent my application (paper), but I still provided by email yesterday.

This morning I checked the app and fingerprints were received on Jan 30th and background check on 31st. But only updated today. When should I expect to hear from them regarding the test?

thank you! yes, big milestone. they now don't allow any other family/friend to join the in-person ceremony, only the applicants. would've liked my mom to join us. koi na.
That is the reason I cannot the in person ceremony with my son . If I had my husband with me then it would not be a problem. He can help me watch him too. So have to ask for Virtual One!

is that the ONLY issue for you not being able to attend in-person? the invite mentioned that you definitely can bring someone along (who is not taking the oath) for them to take care of kids. check the invite again!

hey quick question, does anyone know of the best number to call IRCC ? In the midst of the citizenship application running we almost forgot that my spouse didn't receive the new PR card yet and more than 3 months have passed since we made the application, asked this question on the PR forum but no one responded.. any tips/hints would be super helpful!

TEXT FROM THE INVITE

At this time, only candidates for citizenship will be permitted entry; no guests (i.e. family, friends) are permitted at this in-person ceremony due to physical distancing guidelines. An exception could be made for those clients who require supportive services (i.e. those with accessibility needs or child care needs during the ceremony). You MUST contact us with the name of the desired accompanying person and provide a brief explanation.

If guests are permitted at this ceremony and you bring young children, plan to have a family member or friend available to take them out of the room for you if they get restless. (See below “Important information - Public health guidelines”). Remember that you will need to stay in the room for the full length of the ceremony. If guests are not permitted and you cannot make suitable arrangements for child care, your ceremony can be rescheduled for a later date. A minor child must be accompanied by the parent/guardian who submitted/signed the application on their behalf.

Almost a month since my Background check is complete but still no test invite. Anyone else is experiencing the same thing? Should I call IRCC to check on the progress?
