Hello Members,

I have received ppr for work permit with my family memebers and have already submitted passport to vfs for all family, however due to personal reasons i wont be able to travel. Kindly guide me on next steps in this situation. What if i will receive passport with visa stamping and will decide not to travel?

Just don't use the visa.

Do i need to inform ircc regarding same and get visa cancelled? What i am gonna declare in my furure applications- visa refused/cancelled or anything else?

It wasn’t refused , nor cancelled.

Just clarifying that your family members shouldn’t travel if you aren’t traveling.

What if i will change my employer in next 3 months in my current country and i have visa issued on my passport due to current employer?Do i need to update ircc?

IRCC doesn't care if you change employers in your current country. You do not have to notify them.

If you wish to work for a different employer in Canada, then you will of course have to obtain a new work permit.

What work permit is this? If it is a closed work permit, i think the employer will inform IRCC and it will be revoked (at least that's what happens in US).

If you get a PPR and you are sure you are changing jobs. Just inform your employer and try to avoid getting a passport page wasted.

if you still decide to get the passport stamped, and If you ever decide to come to Canada with a new application, the embassy will cancel your stamped visa with "Cancelled without prejudice" and give you a new Visa.

You should not use the W-1 to travel since its linked to a active WP.

If you have an open WP then you are good you can submit you passport and get it stamped.

Their permits are dependent on your permit. If you don’t go work at the employer specified on your closed WP then your wife shouldn’t go work using her OWP and your children should come to Canada to go to school. That would be using the OWP and TRV in bad faith because your family should only be in Canada if you came to Canada to work at the employer on your closed WP.

Thank you for input members..i got visa stamped now, however will not be travelling with family. Though i will notify employer as he filed my application and see what he will say next..

If you don’t plan on working for the employer specified on your WP you shouldn’t be coming to Canada. At the border who your Canadian employer will be can be verified. Is this a transfer to Canadian offices?

I would be continuing with my employer in my home country but wont be travelling to canada and cancelling my plan to move with family.Yes,this is company transfer to canada office.

You're fine. There is nothing further you need to do. You and your family simply won't use the visas that have been issued to you. It's very straightforward and nothing to worry about.
