Hello,

I need to clarify this as it will affect my crs score huge. Currently I have 467 crs points. I have 2 years canadian experience. I have a 1 year experience from my home country India. But I dont have reference letter from the company. I have proof of bank statements, paystubs for 7 months (I personally sent to my email just in case back then), signed Offer letter, Indian Government provident fund(similar to EI) document stating "Company name", "Date of joining" and "Date of leaving", reason of leaving as "Short service" mentioned in the govt document, Company ID card and Company access card with my name and photo.

If I was not able to get the reference letter from the employer, are these documents enough to prove my work experience ? Please help me if anyone has did this before. Employer is not willing to give reference letter because I have only worked for 1 year 1 month. They have a contract for 3 years. thats the reason why I was not able to obtain reference letter.

If I add 1 year Indian experience, my score is boosting to 505

I have a similar situation
However I am currently serving my notice period at my company where I have beeen working for 3.5 years. I have put down my papers as I will be moving to Canada for 1 year Ontario certificate course (and then 1 year PGWP, meanwhile also applying for FSW Express Entry).
Either way after they came to know my intentions to move to Canada and they have refused to provide me the reference letter.
Will the above documents @ravilion95 referred to work?

Referring to both of you @Aakash_Mallick and @ravilion95
It can be a problem if you guys are claiming points of these jobs. It is overseas and can (or least case not) be contacted by IRCC, seriously depends on the officer if they want to be satisfied by the docs you have submitted or not. I can understand Indian companies being mean in these cases as if they will gain 200 times more profit it they do these types of unprofessional behaviour orherwise keep on ranting about professional when you ask for pay raise or a leave. Anyways if you can try to talk them out so that if and if IRCC contact them atleast they vouch for you. All the best.

Thanks @Taran D for your quick response.
That's something I am afraid of. If people, while I am working are not willing to help me out with the docs, I doubt they will even care to refer me to IRCC once I am out of this company.
I however have requested my manager to provide me with an experience letter to which she stated she will only provide a generic letter and wont write it in the format IRCC recommends.
It will mosty be something like
Xyz has worked here for 3.5 years and is outstanding in his performance blah blah blah...

Proceed with extreme caution. I got my PR rejected (applied aug last year, rejected this month) because my Indian work experience contained only one generic statement about my duties. I had submitted an affidavit explaining that the company will only provide this type of letter - still didn’t satisfy the officer. I’m now waiting in the pool again, having removed my Indian experience and retaining just the Canadian experience.

I know its becoming so hard these days in India. Look at @televisionenthusiast289 comment above, so sad to hear that. People give all their life to the companies especially in India where there is no life once one start working, no holidays, no leaves and still expect to owe them.
Anyways does this manager you are talking about or any other senior level employee can be reachable by you. I am asking as you can talk them out to vouch for you and give their details or info to IRCC instead of the main company??

Just to add this is the same reason why maximum applicant don't claim points for Indian jobs.

You have some more options in addition to what you already have, if they apply to you:

1. Get a colleague to write that reference letter for you in the format required by IRCC (in addition to the generic one your manager/HR will provide).
2. Better if you can get the above signed by two colleagues.
3. Provide some examples of your work that matches directly with the duties mentioned in the IRCC NOC. These can be any completed reports or projects.
4. Find the original job positing - that should have all your basic job duties listed in it.
5. Pictures of you working at the office, preferably around your boss, colleagues, etc. Pictures of you delivering presentations, with some logo of the company around you.
6. Any letters/emails of promotion or praise.
7. Make a deal with your manager/boss. Offer them a month's worth of salary in return for their time writing the appropriate reference letter.
