Hello everyone,
My academic background is,
~ 10th with 67% pass out year-2017
~ 11th-12th science and got failed in 12th, so I chose 3 years diploma in computer engineering and completed it with 6.7 CGPA with 1 backlog
~ IELTS - overall 6.5 no less than 6
Applied for advanced diploma in computer programming and analyses May 2023 intake
~ First applied on 10/11/2022 and rejected on 26/12/2022, reason- "you will not leave Canada'
~ Second time applied on 22/12/2022 and got rejected on 16/01/2023. Reason - I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by
paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/
Section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will
leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the
details you have provided in your application.
As I mentioned that i got failed in 12th so I have only shown diploma in my academics. Is that the reason for my refusal ? Should I show 10th- gap of 2 years and diploma ? or should i show 10th-11th-12th(FAIL) and diploma as well ?
please help me what should i do ?

I don’t believe that ircc selects the candidates based on the provided criteria. I am pretty sure they have a secret criteria. If somebody doesn’t satisfy these criteria then ircc says a random reason of rejection. But there must be a different criteria for they reject candidates.

This is it! If you search hard enough you might find a similar candidate profile like yours from a different country who got approval for his whole family. IRCC does seem to have some criteria they don't publish!

Sounds like you are from India. Acceptance rates from India has decreased alot in past few years to around 50-60% now. Any fails and/or gaps will be red flag to VO in a competitive field

Plus your IELTS isn't that great and the program you are doing isn't that a direct higher level program. Should be applying for Bachelor's

exactly why I asked his age and country.

A. Rejection rates from India
B. Difficult to justify a lower level program at 38 for example with an average IELTS score.

Hi guys,

I got two refusals for study permit this yearand have had to defer my College Diploma admission twice.
I am considering using my Masters admission for the third application for study permit.
This is largely because of the numerous new policies affecting theColleges NOT particularly because I think the school of choice is the reason for refusal.

Is this okay?

please assist.

What school do you have admission for? If you have a 4 year bachelor why apply for a college program? School of choice is a reason. What were reasons for past refusals? You still need to show funds and justify costs of the program with career advancement (Eg. Higher pay) when you return.

Undergrad was a 5 year program.
College admission is into Selkirk.

This means it is advisable to change the school in my next study permit application?

GCMS requests for both refusals are still processing but I want to start prepping.
The first refusal referenced insufficient funds. Second refusal mention funds and inconsistency with temporary visa and visit purpose.

So how much did you show in funds. Program must build on education and also show career progression to justify costs. So you need to explain your job now and how taking a program will give you higher pay when you return to home country. What is your degree in and what was program? You probably need a university program so a Masters.

So as long as it is not to UCW, at an public DLI, and funds are in a personal bank account (cash) then all you need to do is justify the cost with higher pay when you return.

Honestly go to a public DLI, not a private school that no one has heard of in an office building. You show what jobs you can get after graduation. You need to research your economy and the jobs available in your country. Show that having a Masters is required. Show what you make now and what you will make when you get a new job in your field.
