No ITA after applying for Parents Sponsorship interest to sponsor in Oct 2020

Hello Friends,
I had submitted interest to sponsor for my parents in Oct 2020 but never got ITA until yet. Always kept checking SPAM all these years but no luck.

1. Is it true that this is a lottery system for ITA or they select which "interest to sponsor" to send ITA ?
2. When I applied my parents age was 84 and 74 respectively, could this be the reason I never received ITA because of their age?
3. Is there a way I can find out anything based on the "confirmation number" received after submitting the interest to sponsor form? Checked the IRCC site and it does not give any link to search status based on this number.
4. Will IRCC open the interest to sponsor again in 2023? I know there is no announcement from IRCC yet but just speculating.

Any response would be appreciated.

3. I thought there was a link where you can look up your confirmation number. Will see if I can find it.

I see on the on CIC site they say "Once we send out all invitations, you can use this number to check if you’ve been invited to apply to the 2022 process. " but this link does not let you search based on confirmation number .
