question about email received from IRCC

Hello,

It really confuses me that I never received any updates thru my email.

The email is correct, I received my AOR using the same email address, but I never received following updates, such as background check/ test invite...

I had to sign in to the online portal to see if theres any update....

Is this normal?

sorry if I wasn't clear.

Yes, the BG is completed, no email notification, no biggie. But I logged in today and noticed that my test is scheduled next week. I'm not sure why .

IRCC sends emails only when an action is required on your side like giving finger prints, sit-up for the test, provide documents, or attend an interview. They do not send a status update emails.
Many applicants noted that requests show up on the portal as updates before receiving an the request email, it might take up to a week for the email to be sent. Test Invite emails are mostly sent 2 days prior to the test period.

Sometimes you get emails without any updates on the portal, mostly when documents are requested or interviews.
