How long does it allow for a full time job gap for Canadian Permanent Resident Application?

Hi, currently I am applying for Canadian Permanent Resident Application. I worked for company A as full time employee from 2018 January to 2020 October. After that, I have 3 months gap to look for jobs without any payment. Then from 2021 January to 2022 December I worked for company B as full time employee. I wonder my work experiences will be calculated as 5 years experiences or only 2 years for BCPNP, FSW and CRS points ? Does the 3 months gap impact the calculation of points? how long does the gap will be allowed that will not impact the continue work experiences calculation?

You have to be working and paid to count the time towards work experience. So you have four years, not five.

Thanks. Can it be more specific about the experiences calculation? My understanding is that I have a gap in between so the experiences before the gap didn't count as continue work experience. Is that true?

If you didn’t work continuously, you didn’t work continuously. A 3 month gap isn’t working continuously between the first and second job.
