Visited a country as tourist on some other country's visitor visa

Hi All,

I am referring to the following question while applying to Canadian citizenship online:

Do you currently, or have you ever held immigration or citizenship status in a country or territory other than Canada (this includes your country of birth)?

I am aware that as per the this information (Q13), I am suppose to enter information about tourist visas as well. Does this include:

1. For instance, visiting a country like Romania based on Austria's Schengen stamp? So in this case, the passport will not have Romania's visa sticker but will have a stamp from Romania. Will I have to enter information for visit to Romania too?

2. Schengen is a broad visa covering multiple countries. Will I have to enter information for all the Schengen countries I visit based on a visa obtained from one state (For instance, visiting France on a visa obtained from Denmark). In this case, the passport will neither have a sticker nor a stamp from France (might have an exit stamp).

3. For visas obtained on arrival where there is no end date mentioned on stamp (for instance, UAE visitor visa obtained on Indian passport with US visas have a validity of 14 days but the end date is not stamped on the visa stamp.)

1. Yes, your status in Romania was a visitor. You need to disclose it because they can verify those stamps on the passport.
2. You can report the Schengen Visa stamped on the passport in your passport. In your physical presence calculator you would have reported all Schengen countries visited on this trip. If you want to further clarify, feel free to add a letter of explanation
3. In this case your visitor status ended the day were last physically present in the UAE before the 14 day expiry of your visa on arrival. You may enter the day were physically present in the UAE as a visitor for the end date

In essence avoid discrepancies with stamps or visas on your passport that can be easily verified

Will the end date of any status be the visa expiry date or the date I exited the country?

For instance, I had the Schengen visa for 3 week but exited the Schengen zone in 4 days and entered Romania right after based on the same Schengen visa. I did not stay in the Schengen zone for the whole of 3 weeks.

If we have held Schengen visitor visas and US visitor visas or visitor visas for countries such as the Dominican Republic that you can get upon entry, do we have to list all those visitor visas?

Its a question about immigration status and not about your travel history..
It should be as per the visa expiry date stamped on your passport

An example - If as person is outside of Canada and gets PR Visa stamped on his/her passport, that person actually do not become a PR until he/she makes an entry into Canada with that visa, so just visa stamping do not make a person an immigrant.
