Leave Canada before PR card arrives.

Hi Everyone,

My parents just came to Canada for about a month under parent sponsorship program and they are waiting for their PR cards. However, there is an emergency situation that they need to go back to our country for 2 weeks. I want to ask if there is anyone had the experiences about this? Do they allow to leave Canada when waiting for PR cards? How they can come back Canada without the PR cards? Thanks.

They can certainly leave Canada.

They have three options to return to Canada:
- Have their valid PR cards
- Apply for a PRTD from outside of Canada
- Fly to the US and then re-enter Canada through a US / Canadian land border using a private vehicle
