Hi ,
I am a international student and I worked for some time for my uncle's company in last few months. I am expected to be paid about 5k for the work and he would give a T4A for that .

Can someone let me know if working as a self employed is allowed as a international student ?

What I am not sure is how immigration would calculate the 20 hours for the October month, as in T4A , it is not hourly work .

Whether you are able to work for Uber specifically will depend on the requirements and policies of the company, as well as any relevant local laws and regulations. You should contact Uber directly to inquire about their hiring process and requirements for international students. but as far as IRCC is concerned you should be fine.

It is important to note that if you are working as a self-employed individual, the 20-hour per week limit on off-campus work does not apply to you
However, you must still comply with the terms and conditions of your study permit, which may include maintaining full-time enrollment and making satisfactory academic progress.
You should also be aware that you may be responsible for paying taxes on any income you earn from self-employment.
