Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Unless he's learned how to drive faster than CBSA?
STOP!

The person that you responded to, telling him that he would be deported, is NOT the OP of this thread. He did NOT get caught speeding, but even if he did, would not be subject to [possible] deportation unless it was excessive speed and/or was cited for Dangerous Driving. He got a ticket from a red light camera.

I was even under 60kph when I was driving roughly 40kph and the road was packed with light snow.

Probably would have been better to have started a new thread, instead of posting to one that has nothing to do with your situation. ;)

You probably are in receipt of a paper ticket, yes? Does it refer to a charge against you under the Criminal Code of Canada? I am sure it does not. For sure it was issued under provincial legislation (whatever it's called where you are - Highway Traffic Act, Motor Vehicle Act, or whatever). In short, a conviction for running a red light is not a criminal conviction.

Of course, there are cases where running a red light can result in a criminal charge. Try getting drunk, driving through a red light and killing someone.
Um, you don't even have to be driving through a red light or kill someone. All you have to is drive drunk, make it apparent that you're drink, be stupid or unlucky enough that police are nearby and tail you or decide to conduct random breath test on you. Game over - happened to a girl in BC earlier this year.

I was coming from the mall after work and there was just a short amount of time from Amber to Red. I was NOT speeding and I was under 60kph because of the road and weather condition Im a defensive driver and the only way for me to avoid stopping in the middle of the intersection past the stop line was to accelerate moving forward.

Holy shit dude stop. Why do you keep telling us this stuff? If you were to get a red light ticket, that's between you and the highway safety authority/police. Not us. Don't tell us, we couldn't care less.

One time I went 180km/h and got caught. I was like: "FUCK" - lucky I was on my international licence so they couldn't do anything, but, omg, I smooth talked my way into a date with my officer and she came over for dinner that night because she was so bored .
