My ceremony was only 1.30hr long.
I believe you can have your toddler with you, however, when everyone is reciting the oath (mics on at that time) there cannot be any noise aside of you repeating the oath, so if your toddler were to cry, that would be an issue, as it would disrupt the ceremony.
So aside from reciting the oath can I put my mic on mute ?

Hello forum members. I just logged in to my tracker. The last updated date has changed from October 7, 2022 (tracker software update) to December 16, 2022. Could this be the glitch or ghost update ?

I just got word from MPs office. Criminality passed. Security in progress. Does anyone know how long security takes? I submitted FP in May 2022.
  • Criminality passed
  • Security in progress
  • Language, residence, prohibition assessments not started
  • There are no outstanding documents
  • There are no concerns on file

I'm in the same boat. Do you know when your security screening started?

Got the same exact change from Oct 7 to Dec 16. Some old items were marked as new. I was hoping it was a ghost update but now seeing your message, I'm not so sure.

But here is the thing that I observed. Not everyone got the update on December 16, 2022. It could be a ghost update. Looks like some files were opened and worked upon. Because when the October 7, 2022 update came into limelight, it was observed that each and every applicant got the last updated changed to October 7, 2022. Also when the recent glitch came few days ago, people complained that sections which were already "completed" reverted to "in progress", but the last updated date was unchanged.

Also I read somewhere (correct me if I am wrong), only test and oath are under the control of local processing office. On the other hand, background check, prohibitions, physical presence and language are supervised and managed by Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Please share your views.

A lot of people are reporting the Dec 16 ghost update. Most people are waiting for oath. Only a minority of us are still in Limbo.

I don't know about the local office vs Sydney. At this point I've given up researching. What use it it? :-(

I hope so but lots of people have reported this update in Oct, Nov and Dec 2021 threads. Most other people are waiting for oath. There's only a minority of us stuck in background check.

Like I said, not everyone got this update. You never know something positive happens. By the way it could be anything, like someone opened the file and started working on it, or transferring the file to the office with a controlled backlog situation or it could be the recent development regarding the file assigned to inactive officers.

Since its controlled by Sydney, Nova Scotia, that is why a lot of applicants getting update together on the same day.

Let's hope so but I am skeptical. I noticed three kinds of people who got an update on Dec 16: some got oath, some decision made and some ghost update (with old items like test marked as new). Those who didn't get a ghost update seem to be those with file actively being processed at local office for a decision or oath.

It's possible that a senior official wasn't happy with the number of overdue files and wanted the list to be cleared by Dec 16. So those who were eligible foe decision or oath received it, and those of us overdue and stuck may have been given new due dates in 2023 and pushed back into the e-test ready queue (thus the ghost update).

Scratch that. It seems even new 2022 applicants got the dec 16 update. System glitch.

Nothing to see here folks. See you for oath in 2024.
