Hi, my sister is in an abusive relationship with her partner but she is not here in Canada. I’m thinking of inviting her to come here with her daughter as a visitor then apply for Asylum/ Refugee Status. Is she eligible to apply?

She is eligible to apply but the chances of approval will likely be extremely low due to IFA.

What you’re saying is that there is NO safe place what so ever in her country .ZERO places . Zero help from authorities . And ZERO nearby countries she can go too . The bar is high

She really has to show that she has sought safety across her own country and there is no safe place or protection anywhere in her country (IFA). If she can prove no safe place throughout the country and she has proof she has tried then her chances of asylum are much better. If she arrives directly from the abusive household then she will have no proof she tried to find safety in her home country.
