Inspite of all the warnings regarding online application, I'm surprised folks are still applying online. Don't you follow what's going on with online application? Well let me tell you info that I know. Most of IRCC employees are over 60 years. Mostly folks who don't even know how to receive texts messages on their cellphones. Have basically zero knowledge about technology. So when IRCC introduced this crazy online application they were thinking aliens will come out of the sky to process them because their workers don't know what the hell it is. Then the aliens failed to show up so all online citizenship application are stuck. So they decided to train personnel to process the online applications. Started with 2 personnel trained for the entire 20,000 online applications. What I'm I saying. I'm not trying to scare you but brace yourself for a long long waiting period
Hi,
I appreciate your concern here but frankly I think there is a lot of speculation behind all of it. I also feel, at the end of the day, it is a matter of personal preference. I researched thoroughly on applying online vs. by paper, yet opted for online since it is much easier overall. There is more visibility and traceability if there is an issue and you get to deal with only one entity, with fewer interfaces, instead of adding further complexity and keeping track of ground couriers as well. Secondly, the ease of applying from digitally transferring photographs to uploading all the documents, the convivence alone outweighs the hassle of dealing with papers, and it definitely offsets the trade-off of losing a month or two, after all time is money. I genuinely believe every case is unique and lead times vary based on the complexity of each case. I may be wrong, but I don't have anything to lose here. I think as Canadians we should show some trust in the system and go for whatever seems logical, if that means getting the passports a few months late, that's totally acceptable to me as I'm certainly in no rush. I don't understand why there is a need to rush the process or look for shortcuts by hyper-analyzing their ways of working? What will that achieve, if we have accepted Canada as our final home? Meanwhile, online applicants of November, including myself, have received the AOR in record time of 2 weeks or less. Wishing everyone here my best.

Hey all. I took the citizenship test on Nov 11th. The status online is showing citizenship test "not started". Is it normal? I heard that when we get the test invite the status should change to "waiting on you" and when they review it, it shows as completed. Dont know why is it taking to long to complete the review

Application: 15 Jan 2022
AOR: 14 March 2022
Citizenship test Invite: 26 Oct 2022
Test taken: Nov 11th

They do not seem to update the portal regularly. What is the date mentioned for you in the top right corner in the tracker portal? If the date is not a recent date, you just need to wait for a new update on your account and then will probably see the latest status. My account seems to be updated about once or twice a month, so I usually do not see any status changes in between.

Thanks. My last update is on Oct 9th. Around two weeks before I got the test invite.

Do you know which office your invite came from? Although it does take some time for them to update you may want to give IRCC a call. The reason I say you may want to call is because sometimes your photo/ID maybe blurry and they trigger a request to send them clear photo but for some unknown reason that request doesn't make it to your inbox.
Also, I am not an expert just a regular member so please do what you think is best for you.
