Completed the soft landing and travelled back to UAE-spousal PR

Hi,
I completed my soft landing into Canada and travelled back providing an address for the PR card to be sent.
Currently, the spouse who sponsored me and i are going through a divorce. However, i managed to get my SIN already. Is there something that can go wrong with me moving to Canada now? If yes, what can be done. If not, what is the next step.

This is a hard question to answer definitively. The short answer is that something could certainly go wrong. It's pretty problematic that you are already divorcing. This would indicate that the relationship had already fallen apart before you landed and became a PR. It would also indicate that you never had plans to live with your spouse at the time you landed and became a PR. If that was the case, you really shouldn't have landed and this may be viewed as a fraudulent use of the PR visa. You haven't provided any further details, however given the circumstances, it is possible your sponsorship spouse could report you to CBSA for engagning in a marriage of convenience. If your spouse reports you and IRCC decides to investigate, then loss of your PR status is possible. That's the short answer without having full details of the situation.

We didnt expect to get a divorce but unfortunately it has come to this. It is a mutual decision that we had come to. I did travel to see if things work out but clearly it didnt. Is there a way to avoid the loss of the PR in case he does do this?

There's no way to guarantee that you can avoid the loss of your PR status.

If he files a complaint with IRCC and IRCC starts an investigation, then you will want to provide evidence to show your relationship was genuine and that this relationship was ongoing at the time you landed and became a PR. If he does file a complaint, then he would submit evidence as well to support his case. Hopefully you were in Canada a number of months after landing and before leaving where you lived together with your spouse. That would help your case.

Ultimately it's up to IRCC if they investigate or not based on the evidence provided by the person who complains. If there isn't strong enough evidence, they won't investigate.

For a little more feedback- we have been married for almost 2 years now.
unfortunately, i wasnt in Canada for too long as i was employed in another country at the time, so we didnt stay long in Canada together.
