PR application for a conventional refugee

Hello folks,

First of all please join me in celebrating the positive decision I got for my refugee protection claim.

I know the next step is applying for my PR as early as I receive my notice of decision in the mail.

Here is where I wanted to get a clarity.

I wanted to include my same sex partner whom I lived together with for about a year now. He is also a refugee protection claimant who was put on PRRA and got a negative decision back in May of 2022. We were able to stop the removal order with a motion to stay untill the end of the judicial review which is currently underway.

My question is if I can include my partner in my PR application while the judicial review is underway. If so, what are the possible outcomes of including him in the application as a common law partner?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Sandra,

We hired a lawyer and submitted a request for a stay of removal with the Federal Court of Canada. The court granted my partner a stay of removal which means that removal will be postponed until a decision is made on the underlying application for leave and judicial review.

Another question please . Could you please give an estimate of how much you paid to the lawyer ?
