ANY UPDATE FROM GERMANY AND AUSTRIA proccing time tourist visa visitor visa

My friend applied online through the IRCC Portal from Hungary for tourist visa (will be processed in austria office). They submitted thier application on Aug 17 and Biometrics was submitted on Aug 25. Application is stuck in "background check" ever since.

What's your application story? I think the Ukraine crisis is really holding back visitor visas for other nationalities in that area.

The majority of European countries don’t require TRVs but yes CUAET applications are overwhelming the European processing centres.

austria embassy is not working

Applications aren’t usually processed in Austria. Warsaw is the major processing centre.

So my friend who applied from the IRCC online portal from Hungary is not a European citizen and needs a TRV to visit Canada. She has a full time job in Hungary with a valid work permit and bank accounts to back it all up. Hence i assumed it wouldn't be a major hassle getting this TRV. She has been waiting since Aug 17 and its been on "background check" ever since. These CUAET applications have really backed everything up, its just super frustrating for us.

Also i assumed the processing center would be in Austria since its the closest to Hungary. Did not know it would be Warsaw. Good to know, thank you.

There are people stuck at Warsaw VO since Feb/March waiting their TRV. London VO is supposed to be swamped, too.

This crazy backlog is really demotivating.

None unfortunately, applied for gcms notes a few days ago but i doubt they will respond because the processing time has almost tripled since we put in the application so they will just disregard since its still technically within "processing time".
