Hi, I was already accepted as a permanent resident. I had applied for refugee status, so refugee board has my passport, as my application was approved I was wondering when and how I will get my passport back. Do I have to ask for it? Do I have to request it? Or just they will send it to me automatically? Does anyone know about it? Thanks in advance!!

Usually, you don't get it back unless either (a) you get Canadian citizenship or (b) you get deported. Holding your country's passport can be interpreted as a form of "reavailment" and cause for the government to apply for a cessation of your protection, so I would strongly recommend treating your country's passport like it's filled with asbestos until you get the protection citizenship can offer.

I'm sure as shit not getting another US passport.
