Visitor Visa application made within Canada for TRV (Processing time October 2022 onwards)

I applied for the visitor visa from within Canada for a TRV after a successful Closed work permit issued at the 1000 islands border. The official timeline was 15 days which is now 16 days. Application was made on October 9th. There has been no progress apart from them checking for my eligibility but that's about it. I need to travel overseas for an emergency and do not have a valid TRV anymore. This is concerning and I did raise 2 webforms few days ago but to no avail. Is there something I can do further expedite or remedy the problem. I tried calling their phone but that was pointless.
