Call around to clinics in the area and get on all waiting lists. Very few GPS are taking new patients. Get on the Ontario list. There are over a million people in Ontario without a family doctor so you may wait years.
Best time to try to find a GP taking on new patients is when residents graduate and start new practices in the summer or early fall. Many take over practices from GPs retiring but there are some that start new practices. Agree with the advice to call around although you and over a million people are also looking for a GP.
