A final decision has been reached: Not Started??

Hello,
I am just trying to understand what the "not started" means in my mom's TRV tourist application. Does it mean that they have started processing it, or not?


Application Status: Open
Review of medical results: Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents: No additional documents are needed at this time
Scheduling an interview: Not needed at this time
Review of biometric information: Not needed at this time

A final decision has been reached: Not Started


Oct 31 - Submitted application online
Oct 31 - notification - application status OPEN

It means that the process for reaching a final decision has not started..... ;D

At this moment you should only pay attention to "Application Status"... all other status are just complimentary detail.

Don't try to read in between lines. There are no secret meanings.

There is no "in process" anywhere in the status so no reason to assume it is.

Stick to the facts: "Application Status: Open" means that the application has been open.

"A final decision has been reached: Not Started"
The "not started" will never change to "Started"
once your final decision will be made your application status will change to "close" and this "Not Started" will change to complete/approved. bythe way before any of these status will change you will receive an email about the outcome of your application.

Thanks for answering. I've never done this before so i am clueless at what these lines mean or are implying.
 
Received an email Nov 10 saying there is new message in cic account. Logged in and saw the letter requesting for original passport!!!!

The status still hasnt changed though. It will probably change after the visa is affixed to the passport. Which we submitted on Nov 11. They said it will be about 3-5 days!!! Thanks guys!

hello I have applied my application for eta Canada on 22 July. after few minutes I received email of payment confirmation . but now 5 days has gone status of my application not change . it's show "not started" my application no. is Can you tell me about this
