@Anuj Pradhan : I echo your sentiment about the Surrey BLS call center. It is absolutely useless. And from speaking to one of them, apparently the call center is in India which does not do us any favours either. So while they MIGHT be able to give you a status update from their internal monitoring system, they would not know much as they don't operate from the Surrey centre itself. All this to say, take everything you hear from them about a status update with more than just a grain of salt.
A walk-in application might be fairly quicker, but, then again, all the slots are full. So, following up in person is not an option, for me at least.
With my travel in the first week of December, I'm regretting having even sent my passport in as I now have no faith that these clowns will do their job in time.
Should have risked travelling and then surrendering my passport in India as I've heard that works too.
For those who haven't surrendered and applied for an entry visa yet, unless your travel is at least 3 months out, I wouldn't risk sending a postal application. You're better of risking travel on your indian passport or postponing your travels than leaving your docs in the hands of these incompetent fools.
Apologies for the negativity. But frustrated with the amount paid, service being received (at least in the Vancouver jurisidiction) and the potential costs associated with postponing my flights as a result of this.
Having said all this, if you have a status update , please do share as this is the best most of us have got.
Thanks,
