Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on the process.
What is the normal or current wait time for any feedback on a visitior Visa from South Africa.
I submitted online 6/30
Biometrics etc recieved 7/4
I've sent through some inquiries to VFS but to be avail.

Has anyone gotten an answer for July visa submissions yet?
And if a visa is granted is there a specific time frame before you can enter Canada after your visa has been approved?

The posted estimate is 94 days however most visas seem to be taking longer right now (this is a general statement and not specific to SA).

You won't hear anything from IRCC until they either approve or refuse. So what you're experiencing is normal. There's no point contacting VFS.

You can fly to Canada right away if approved and once the visa is in your passport.

I submitted application in May (Ghana Office) Biometrics collected within a week of submission. Till date.....no feed back. Average processing times is 116 days I believe in Ghana, per my calculations and Canadian holidays.....it has surpassed their processing days....still waiting.

There are march applications that are still waiting for a decision, so please ignore the processing time. Also bear in mind that having a valid visitor visa does not guarantee you entry to Canada, it just allows you to present yourself at a point of entry and get interviewed by a border services officer.

One last note: Once the VSF submits your collected biometrics, there's nothing they can do about your application. You're in IRCC territory now, you can submit webforms, but that does not mean you'll get more than a generic response after 3 months.

Posted processing times are only estimates. Can be much shorter but also much longer.
