Hello,

Hope everyone is doing well. Recently my status updated with oath ceremony scheduled for Nov’ 09, but haven’t received any email with the details like virtual/in-person and location. As per test invitation email looks like my VO is Scarborough.

As i await for next steps have few queries on name swapping...

I need to swap my Family and Given Names in my Canadian passport as it wrong/opposite in my Indian and subsequently in all Canadian documents including PR card. Not sure if it will be considered as name change. Wanted to understand what is the process and ideal time to get it done as i am in initial stages of getting my Canadian Citizenship certificate and Passport process.

Thanks and Regards
Ravi Chandra

This will be a name change. It may be a bit late to do anything now till your oath is complete. Once you have the certificate, proceed with the name change and then get your passport made.

Thank for the quick reply. Yes will do the same and get the name changed before applying for Citizenship certificate so that name will be uniform across all documents.

Wondering if it can be changed via updates in the Passport form Section 1- > All former surnames field. not sure what is this for.
