Hi!
Hoping someone can help out!
Our 4 year old is Canadian born- my husband and I are both (naturalized)canadian citizens that hold OCI.
We relocated to the US recently and recently submitted our daughter’s OCI application via mail to the NY CGI.

we got a query that our daughter’s birth certificate needs to be attested by Canadian authorities- we don’t know what that means exactly and VFS did mot elaborate on what’s the definition of attestation and whether it can be done in the US at the Canadian consulate OR can only be attested in Canada?

anyone have any experience with such a scenario or can help in anyway on how we can proceed?

Canadian consulate will be able to attest / verify / confirm documents issued in Canada. Your best bet would be to reach out to one in NY or nearest whose jurisdiction you would fall under.
