Basically, my study permit has been approved and I also submitted my passport to VFS

On the 11th of October 2022, I get a message from IRCC saying that my passport is damaged and will have to reissue a new one and then submit it again.

However, I did apply for a reissue of my passport but I’m getting an appointment on 17 November 2022, not before that

So I’m just concerned about whether is there any deadline to resubmit my new passport. Or will this late resubmission have any effect on the decision of my visa (although it’s been approved )?

And was your passport damaged?

Isn't there a deadline on your letter stating by when you should submit your new passport?

The only thing I can think of is to raise a webform but it could take more than 30 days for IRCC to read it... try to contact your VAC to see if they can help you.

You don't have any executive service to make a passport urgently?
I think there is a 30 days time to submit the passport for stamping, if you don't submit it by this time then IRCC may cancel your approval.
Unfortunately, that is the earliest appointment I got after applying through that executive service...
My original passport request stated that the passport needs to be submitted within 30 days, whereas the new request letter doesnt state any deadline.

Yes, there was very slight damage that went unnoticed by me.

No, there isn't any deadline stated in the new request letter.

I've raised several webforms but I had no luck recently.

Just out of curiosity, was the damage important enough in your opinion to justify IRCC denying stamping it? Where was it damaged?

If I were you, I would try to find a way to get your new passport. Seems not much else you can do.

IRCC won't extend the deadline, you will have to get either the current passport fixed or get a new one.

Have you tried applying for re-issue of passport through tatkaal scheme? https://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/faqTatkaalPassports#:~:text=Passports can be now obtained,) dated 16 December, 2019.
Was that the executive service you're talking about?

Hey everyone. I just spoke to some consultants. they have told me the deadline is 30 days from the day we receive the letter. however, I can write a letter explaining why it's taking me longer and attach my appointment receipt with it and upload it under the required document section. Hopefully, they can extend my deadline. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1323&top=4

Writing this so that in the future anyone who faces this issue can read this and hopefully help them.

Thank you to everyone who replied!

Good luck! You should send an update in the future so that we all can know if things worked out for you.
