Can I, as the sponor of pgp(my parents), temporarily leave Canada, after submitting applications of pgp 2022?

My situation.
- Landed as PR in 2017
- In the past 5 years, I have only been out of Canada for only 40 days
- In the past 5 years, I have been working full-time in Canada
- In the past 5 years, my wife and my kids have spent 70% in Canada with me
- My wife is PR, and my kids are citizens

Am I good to leave Canada after the submission of the pgp application? And I'm planning to travel for around 4 months back to my country to visit my grandma, she is 85 now and ill. Will I have any trouble with the pgp application ?

Will you still meet LICO? Will you continue working but remotely? The exact amount of time will be important. Technically you should be living in Canada because the goal of PGP is family reunification. Are your children not attending school or else leaving for 4 months will not be possible without leaving school?

- Yes, I'll still meet LICO
- Yes, I'll continue to work remotely, but combine it with my pto
- My wife and children will be in Canada. Only me travelling

as previously indicated the exact amount of time will make a difference. In general you are supposed to remain in Canada but You’ll likely get away with visiting. I would recommend a shorter visit. Do not stay over 6 months for any reason for various.

Also, it makes me feel a bit weird: if I'm a sponsor I cannot use my pto+ company allowed work from anywhere time to travel outside of Canada? Or I just cannot visit my home country in this way?

It is easier to conceal the fact that you are outside Canada if you are still working for your employer. You are able to take a vacation while sponsoring your parents but 4 months is not a typical vacation period. If it was up to a month that would be viewed as vacation. It has nothing to do with where you are located although it appears worse if you are in your home country. Ince you hit 6 months you would no longer be a resident although you’d be a tax resident which has implications for your employer, you‘d need to inform CRA, you may have to reapply for healthcare in many provinces,etc. After a month you are no longer outside Canada on a
vacation you are spending a 1/3 of the year living abroad.

I see your point. If I can recap:
1. If I work remomtely for my employer when I'm outside of Canada for a shorter period of time, maybe 1-2 months is fine for IRCC?
2. take vacation + work remotely is not a good idea in this case?

What if I have a valid reason to go back back country? Like doctor notes or medical reports that show my grandma is very ill?
