Will it be possible to come to canada with spouse then leave after a few weeks? Might be gone for a few months. Both husband and wife have work visas. Principal will be the one leaving and dependent spouse will be left behind in Canada. Any implications to this?

What is going on with the job for the person for the primary applicant with the WP. If you are planning to leave right away then the job must no longer exist. Is that correct? Yes there are potentially many problems with your plan.

If the job is still there how is the person able to leave for months and isn’t starting to work? When is the start date of the job? If the wife got an SOWP based on the husbands job they are expected to be in Canada as the principal applicant. Did the principal applicant get a closed WP based on job offer? Not sure what you mean by restricted open work permit?

So occupation restricted work permit means that the principal applicant can work for any employer but it has to be under a specific occupation.

The dependent spouse has open work permit. No restrictions

This is pretty rare and you must be a home support worker. If your spouse and children are working and studying in Canada as accompanying people based on your WP it is expected that you will be in Canada as well. They received their permits based on the fact that you would be working in Canada. If you weren’t/aren’t intending on working in Canada then their applications would be based on a misrepresentation. How long do you plan on being outside Canada while your spouse and children are in Canada? How long you will remain outside Canada makes a significant differnce. Will they be working and studying In Canada? Is one of the children a baby? If your spouse will not be working and your child is a baby then why would they move to Canada without you? Is there a reason that you are not coming to Canada permanently with them?

The principal is a child caregiver.

They are still waiting for the tourist visa for the child. If they wait longer, their medicals will be expiring in December.

Caregiver really wants to work in Canada and employer is able to accommodate her temporary absence by some alternate child care solution for a few months..

Why is the access accompanying spouse moving then? Once you have your WP when the medicals expire is not an issue. You don’t have to prove a valid medical when you land. What is the date on the WP that you have to land before or else it is no longer vslid?

It says on their letter of introduction that their medicals should be valid on the day of their entry.

Oh ok. If you are only returning until your child gets a TRV then you will immediately return you have a good reason to leave. You need to be honest if asked about whether you have a job in Canada or whether you are all permanently relocating to Canada.
