I got married last year in India and traveled to Canada on a visitor visa (My husband is in Canada on a sponsored work permit). I have filed for domestic abuse case against my Husband in Canada & India. I left him 3 months back and traveled back to India on the same day.

As the domestic abuse cases are in progress and it might take some time to finally sign the divorce papers or separation papers, what option should I select for my marital status?

What application are you filling out if you are in India? You are separated.

Have you started the legal process to separate from your spouse? If so, you can show this as evidence while you wait for the divorce to become official.

Haven't filed the divorce petition, just filed a case on abuse.
Living separately and the assault case report would be enough to show separation?

I think it will be if you include the police report and a letter explaining the situation and that you will be filing for divorce.
