Hi All,

I am currently working in Canada with a Closed Work Permit(LMIA exempt) since March 2022 which is valid till 2025.
I have been working with the same employer since March 2018 (in India).

Below underlined are my questions.
Am I eligible to get points if I select Yes in the question “Do you have a valid job offer” and get a letter from my employer confirming long-term employment?

Referencing the below section from the link.(https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/offer-employment.html)

  • if you have a valid work permit for a NOC 0, A or B job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:
    • are currently working for an employer specified on the work permit
    • have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer (Is this Canadian experience or Overall with that employer?)
    • have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa

Thanks in advance.

You need one year of Canadian experience to be eligible. So in March 2023, you want to get a letter from your employer that says they will employ you one year past PR.
