My friend submitted PR card renewal application in May 2021 by mail, together with her husband’s application. They both met the RO & have same travel history. Her husband received the new card few months later but my friend didn’t get hers. She said whenever her daughter check online the status is always “Processing”, never changed.

She heard “some people” said submit a new application hopefully can speed up the process so she submitted in JUL 2022, I’m not sure if it’s right to do that, but still, nothing happened until now.

A bit more of her background, she’s a retired person, only back to her home country like every 2 years for about 2 months, so she definitely met the RO. She never leave Canada since her last trip in Apr 2019.

She’s doesn’t speak English and doesn’t really know how to use internet, so she can’t do anything except wait. She has a wedding to attend in overseas in coming Feb so she starting to get worried now. Can anyone here advise her what to do? Your help is much appreciated, thanks.

She shouldn’t have submitted another application. That may lead to delays because there are 2 applications. Too late now but she should contact IRCC to withdraw one of the applications.
