Hello members,

I am on PGWP and will be getting married later this year. I am considering different options to bring my spouse to Canada after marriage. I was considering applying for Visitor Visa but there is a high rejection rate, especially for spouses with no travel history. Now, I am considering applying for SOWP instead for my wife but i am not sure if i am eligible for that on PGWP. Does anyone have any suggestions for me or has been through a similar experience and can provide some guidance, please?

Thanks all

Since you are on PGWP, your spousal is eligible for SOWP. Your spouse can apply for this. You need to have some funds here in Canada, some funds in India, strong proof of relationship, and few usual documents.

thanks for answering.
What documents are required from spouse side ? And what if the spouse doesn’t have a bank account? How much bank statement do i need to show and for how many months?

From spouse's side:
1. Passport (if your name is mentioned in the spouse field, it helps)
2. Passport size photo
3. Marriage certificate
4. Proof of relationship( marriage pics, event pics, couple pics etc..)
5. Education documets
6. Financial documents
and maybe a few more depending on the profile.

If the spouse doesn't have a bank account, maybe she can be added to your account in India or her father's account. Otherwise, funds and an affidavit of support from either your parents or hers could also be useful. Better to have at least months old statement in the bank or minimum of 3 month
