Walk-in Service Canada experience - Montreal

I was hoping some of you can share their walk-in experience at Service Canada for a passport application in Montreal. Any details would be appreciated: which center, how long was the wait, how was the experience, etc. I tried booking an appointment but the earliest one available is in 2 months.

There is a huge backlog. Unless you can prove travel within days most walk-ins are not taken. Would suggest mailing unless you have proof of travel.

Thanks. Do you know what is needed for proof of travel ? Is plane, bus or train ticket enough ? Or will they ask me to justify why it's urgent to travel as well as require a lot of details (travel itinerary, hotel reservation, etc.) ?

You’ll have to look at current info for the location you want to visit but last month it was within 48 hours if I remember correctly.
