Hello everyone,
I’m seeking your help in my situation please!

I have a study permit and willing to take the PR after studying, meanwhile, my Palestinian parents who live in Saudi Arabia want to visit me in Canada, then apply for an asylum since their Iqama would be expired.

my questions are:

1. Would this process work for my family?

2. Will they receive a monthly income once they apply for an asylum or after it gets accepted?

3. Will it affect me and my application for a PR later on?

4. What are the possible consequences of doing so?

1. The would need to get TRVs to travel to Canada and claim asylum. Have they got TRVs already? None of us can tell you if their refugee claims will be accepted. It will depend on the strength of those claims and what evidence they have to support them.
2. They will qualify for some assistance payments however they are very low and difficult to live on. They'll want to get work permits as soon as they can and work to be able to live a decent life in Canada.
3. Depends on how old you are. If you are under 22, then I guess it might. If you are over 22, the there shouldn't be any impact.
4. If their asylum claim is refused and all appeals, etc. are refused, they may eventually have to leave Canada.

Would see if they are able to secure a TRV first before making any plans. As Palestinians living in KSA it may be very difficult for them to secure TRVs. Have they lived in West Bank or Gaza recently? If not, it may be difficult for them to get asylum. Assume if you were able to secure a study permit that they must have had a long history in KSA. If they apply for asylum it will likely make it difficult for friends and family to visit Canada in the future. If denied it will make it difficult for them to visit Canada. If denied and not deportable they can end up in limbo with no status in Canada but Canada can’t force them to leave as well. There are some that end up in limbo for quite a while.

Actually my mom was granted a TRV before based on my study permit, but it expired. I got an extension for my study permit and now she wants to get a TRV again and apply for an asylum with my father. My mom had to get a Palestinian Passport instead of the Travel Document in order to get the visa. We were born and raised in Saudi Arabia, we didn’t visit Palestine. I have a Study Permit and I want to apply for a PR the regular ways, would that create problems for me if my parents vsited and stayed based on my Study Permit?? And would the Palestinian Passport create problems for them applying for an asylum? Knowing that their Iqama would be expired in KSA.

Your father may struggle to get a TRV. Your mother may have only been granted a TRV because your father was remaining in KSA and was employed there. If they both apply for TRVs they may run into problems. Would suggest applying for TRVs to see if they both get approved before making any plans. The fact that they haven’t lived in Palestine in a very long time may make it very difficult to get asylum in Canada. If they haven’t lived there for decades (even in cases where it has been many years since they lived in a country) it will be very difficult to show that their lives will be at risk if they return. They should be speaking to a Canadian immigration lawyer about their chances of success. I would actually suggest Consulting with a few since some lawyer promise approval no matter what application secure your business. Not sure if a Palestinian passport is legally accepted. Your parents applying for asylum won’t impact your PR application but it will make it more difficult for any friends or family to get any form of temporary visa to enter Canada. If denied it will make it very difficult for them to visit Canada or visit many others countries. Given that they haven’t lived in Palestine for a very long time it is very important that they consult a lawyer about their chances of approval. Your study permit application likely stressed that your family co sundered KSA their home and that you planned on returning to KSA after graduation. The lack of attachment to Palestine as a family makes it much harder to prove that their lives are at risk if they have to return to Palestine.

They can end up in limbo if not deportable. There are people who have been refused all forms of PR applications and won‘t leave Canada but aren’t deportable. In this case the parents can technically apply for H&C and whether they get approved and how long it takes will be dependent on their case. They can end up in limbo until approved for some for of PR. There will likely be concerns about TRV approval for both parents given age, employment in KSA and given they are Palestinian because of concerns that they won’t leave Canada.

Would suggest applying for supervisa versus asylum once you become a PR. It is a much safer option given that they haven’t actually lived in Palestine for what sounds like at least 20 years.

everyone have their luck your parents should try worse situation they may get refused but if they don’t try they refused any way why I am saying this Because one of my friend mom never had any travel history his son had trv for Canada they both had problem in home country we took a Chance applied for her guess what without having 0 travel history without having good bank balance because in my friend home country women mostly stays home don’t work so her bank balance was less than 1000 dollars but son got visa and he had money in his account so make sure cover letter is very important where u need to mention why you want to go Canada ? Why will you be bask ? So as long as you satisfy with them your cover letter visa is easy and as you mention mom already got trv before I can’t see any problem rest good luck but we did for my friend we got successful outcome god bless .

I don’t Canada made any mistake in my friend mom decision as I said before if you write that part perfectly why you wanna go Canada ? Why will you be back ? 95 percent no one stop your visa .

A very large amount of visas are denied daily. 95% are not approved.
