Clarification on Application

Hi Team,

I wish to get some clarification with respect to the Express Entry PR application. I was in the pool for Express entry since the last year and I applied for Paper based PR through PNP program in December 2021. So I have paid a fee of about 3k CAD for this.

But I got invitation for PR through express entry on CEC few days back.

I am kind of confused if I should apply on this as well or what is the process that needs to be followed?

It would be great if you could help me know about the process.

Also if there is any scope for fee to that can be returned back?

Regards,
Balaji

With regards to getting fees back I think it depends whether you have received AOR or not, from what I understand once they begin processing your application (AOR) the fees are non-refundable. Before that you would need to withdraw your application and request to get the fees back- it may take quite a bit of time though.

Who cares if you don't get the fee back or not? If you're getting Canadian residency faster, then $3k doesn't even matter. Just go pay it and get it done. If you're eligible for a refund IRCC will return you what you're owed, but if you're not and you get PR in 6 months, it's worth the cost.

I think the only thing you have to weigh is if you already have AOR for PNP, maybe it's not worth the effort because you'll probably get it pretty soon anyway.

I haven't received AOR for PNP yet! Just curious if I could use the same online payment that I made for PNP here as well since I have a receipt of payment?
