Yea you do. My lawyer explained all steps if an officer wants to start an investigate against you.You dont explain that to the officer, but you make arguement before the court once there’s cessation application request. Stop misleading
first of all once you come back to Canada if border police is not satisfied with the statement you made for going back to home country, he/she will report you to the IRCC, then an officer/officers from IRCC will contact you and listento your explanations. If they are not satisfied as well THEN they will build a case against you and you will go go court. This is from a immigration lawyer that’s been working for more than 30years. And my lawyer has not witnessed a single cessation case.
