Hi all,

just wanted to know if anyone has had this issue or know how to get around it.

I have got PNP nomination and then a work permit extension through employer.

I then applied for PR and I didn’t think I needed proof of funds because of the job now have.
Then I got this letter from express entry:

>Proof of funds: As you do not have a work permit with the employer named in it, this is
an open work permit. Proof of funds will need to be provided for us to move forward with your application. This must be received at this office by: 2022/09/14

Does anyone know why this is an issue - as I have shown them a valid job offer.

Are you claiming separate points for valid job offer 'arranged employment'? If not, then your current job does not exempt you from providing POF. Only CEC or applicants with valid job offer do not need to provide POF.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

not sure if I claimed extra points for that because I came in with PNP.

Like you said and the website said “or a valid job offer” means that no funds are required. Because I have a valid job offer I thought I would be exempt. Fortunately my work permit extension visa came through today which is employer specific.

So I am thanking Jesus for perfect timing.
Cheers

If you already have the PNP 600 pints, I think the arranged employment would not be applicable anyway.
Regardless, you will have to provide the proper proof of funds if you are not in the CEC category.
