PINNED NOTE: posts claiming that IRCC is prioritizing paper applications over online applications are at best simply NOT true. Some of this, here, appears to be deliberately false and misleading.
It's not about prioritizing, it's about manpower, or lack of. IRCC doesn't even have adequate number of trained officers to deal with online apps.

Thanks for posting this. I hope the clowns that were telling us we are overreacting can read this. Why didn't IRCC first train the staff before accepting Online applications ? And they certainly don't still have enough staff to process the online applications in the inventory

It took me almost 1 year to process my online application.

if the number of online applications isn't so many, then it doesn't have much disadvantage compared to paper application.

Instead. I was able to see what's going on about my application online. they gave the oath date 1 month before.

They'll probably nitpick at the language and be like "it's not that they're prioritizing paper applications, they're understaffed to process online applications", which obviously is by all intents and purposes the same thing. And still deceitful because it was never communicated to online applicants.

If IRCC doesn't have enough staff that can process online applications, why did IRCC website ENCOURAGE applicants to apply online? Now that's something the news can report on.

As I am posting this, you can check my signature and can conclude that its been almost 3 months that only Test is marked completed. Everything else is in progress(except oath). Usually there is an update in background check before, during or after test window in case of most of the applicants. That didn't happen in my case. I just hope online applications are processed equally like paper applications.

Me and my wife are also in the same stage. My test got completed on March 21 and in BGC, as per GCMS notes, security clearance is still pending.

My wife test completed on Apr 7 and as per GCMS notes, her Security Clearance is also pending.

I don’t understand Those who are saying paper applications are slower than the online applications. There are clear evidences showing online applications are much much slower than paper applications. Who trust IRCC is doing their best to process the applications. If you look into the paper applications sent in Feb-May 2022, the majority of them took the oath already. Those who are saying paper applications are slower than online applications are indeed blinded.

Paper is faster than online only for 2021 and 2022 applications. Unfortunately IRCC also likes to work on a LIFO basis, prioritizing 2022 over 2021, 2021 over 2020, and 2020 over 2019.
