Complicated situation

Hello All,

I need some expert advice on the below situation,

I have been looking to come to Canada in FSW; my total Express entry point is 486. I have LMIA in the Cooking category from Alberts. Lastly, my IELTS is expiring in March 2023.

I still want to land with my Family as PR by coming through the FSW draw, and my invitation should be before February next year.

But if I don't want to take any chances, I should apply for Alberta PNP, but I heard that Alberta is not providing PNP for the Cooking category. Any expert can confirm whether it is true or not.

The last option is land With a Work permit. I am not sure what my option will be. To get PR after landing as a worker in Alberta. Also, if I come as a worker, will I be able to go with my husband and daughter? I want to avoid IELTS in future for PR as I have worked so hard to get 7+ bands.

Is there anyone who is an expert with Alberta PNP? Please share your input which can help me to make a decision. I would like to know my options if I have to come with a work permit what will be the way I can get PR for me and my family?

For FSW, there is no guarantee you will be invited in time based on your score. So FSW is not at all a sure thing.

Alberta does not publish the lists of NOCs / occupations they have invited to the best of my knowledge. You would probably be best off asking this question in the PNP section of the forum.

In terms of whether your husband and daughter will be able to come with you if you come over as a temporary worker, they can apply for an open work permit (for your husband) and a study permit (for your daughter) but approval is unfortunately not guaranteed. I am assuming your daughter is under 22 years old.

Yes, she is 7 years old. Do you know what will be my option to get PR if I land on work permits?

FSW / Express Entry is one. Whether you are selected will depend on how many points you have.

The other options to research are the PNP programs for the province where you will be working.

First of all, I appreciate all of your input and thank you for spending your valuable time. My province is final (AB) as I have approved LMIA from an employer. As I have a family with me, I am confused about whether I would apply for work permits right now or wait for my Invitation for an Express Entry draw.

Also, my IELTS will be expiring in the next few months, and I want to avoid giving my IELTS back, If possible.

No one here can make this decision for you. You have to determine what you will do yourself.

It is not possible to say if or when you will receive an invitation under Express Entry. So if you wait for ITA, there will be a risk you won't be invite or that you will need to re-write IELTS.
