It has been more than 2 months since my DM and everything completed except oath (Jun 29), dont know why i have to wait for so long and others can get oath update just 1-2 weeks after DM.
What is your processing office? I thought I was the only one waiting over 2 months from DM to get oath, but it seems there are a few others popping up here and there.

Processing times*It starts once we receive your complete application at our mailroom. It doesn’t include the time it takes to mail your application. Most online applications: It starts after we check that you submit a complete application.
Online application to become a Canadian citizen: It starts after you submit your application.

“You can only check your application status after you’ve received an acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) letter or email.
  • You’ll get an AOR after we receive your application and check that it’s complete.
  • If you haven’t received an AOR, find out when we’ll send them (opens in a new tab) . “
Processing starts AFTER an application has been checked for completeness. When/How do we know that the completeness check has been done? AFTER THE AOR!

Why would an AOR be needed, if it didn’t signal something specific? Because that is when processing starts. Again, stop being misleading.

What Onakar112 mentioned is correct. The usual time taken by IRCC was 1 yr to complete the process from submission of application.
Many of my friends who applied got their citizenship in 1 year. This is from the date of application submission. AOR comes after.
However, right now, if you call IRCC, they will just say that the total processing time is 26 months which is over 2 years.
Many people in this group have got their oath ceremony within the 1 yr time period.
The 26 months time refers to the time which if taken, can give the applicant an opportunity to ask IRCC why the application has not been processed. Also the 26 months is the maximum time taken to process some (not all) applications in the last 6-8 months. According to the forum, 90% applications are being processed within 12-16 months.

Well Said Rock On. The 12-16 months is what is being seen right now. The 12 months is from the day the person submits the application.

So is it 26 months as of when the new processing time is posted and which affecte all apps on this day and after or does it refer to older applications too?

Hello forum members. I need your advice on this. Its been more than 2 months that my test has been marked completed. Background Check, Physical Presence, Prohibitions and Language are still in progress. My question is that should I submit a webform in order to request information on background check ? As I have seen in case of most of the forum members, background check is usually completed before and after the test, if not than fingerprints are requested. None of this has happened in my case. Please share views.

If you have any doubts about your application status, I think it’s better to contact IRCC through webform.

Thank you for the reply. Doubt is created only because what I have observed in the forum, background check is either completed or updated for fingerprints requirement before or after the test. I am just stressed because there has not been a single update regarding background check.

Here is a timeline of her application. Just waiting for Oath now

Location: Calgary

Method: Paper
Applicants: Single

Delivered: March 8, 2022
AOR: March 30, 2022
Background Check: April 25, 2022
Citizenship Test Taken: June 12, 2022
Citizenship Test Completed: June 14, 2022

Now I realize how random and absurd this whole process has been. TOTALLY UNFAIR to us online applicants.
