Hemophilia - can this be an issue for immigration to Canada?

I want to apply for a refugee once I arrive in Canada. I have hemophillia A (severe) and I need regular shots. Does 'excessive burden' thing apply for refugees too? Does CIC mandates medical examination on refugees too?
I have severe arthritis in my legs because of bleeding. Though I can walk and work (desk jobs).

No it doesn’t but it will come up eventually if you don’t qualify for asylum. What country are you from? Also getting access to medical care can take a while so it could take quite a while to first see a family doctor and then get referred to a hematologist. It is currently taking 6-12 months to get a WP. Do you have a visa to get to Canada?

You don't need a WP to get health care coverage as a refugee claimant.

Yes, everyone who applies for PR has to go through a medical.

It is stated that upon entry, any medical access will be immediate for emergency conditions.

No, your hemophilia won't stop you from claiming asylum.

Shelter isn't really provided. You will get some minimum support payments however you'll want to aim to get a work permit as soon as possible so that you can start working. The minimum support payments really aren't enough to live on.

Factor will be free once you have been referred to a haemophilia clinic and have been seen by a doctor and evaluated.

I don't understand the first part of your question.

While you are a refugee claimant in Canada your shots will be covered by the health care system and will be free.

If your refugee claim is denied and all appeals, etc. fail, then yes, you could be deported.

The first step is to get the TRV approved to travel to Canada. So I would recommend you focus on that first since this can be a very difficult step.

Hello all,
We got PFL for my 5year old son due to hemophilia. He was diagnosed as severe. But we did another test to reconfirm his status/severity and it came out as mild. Please advice on what to do. His initial diagnosis 5years ago was apparently wrong.. because he hardly ever have bleeds and no joint bleeds nor anything unless trauma which we all avoid. Even the boy is much aware and doesn't involve in hard physical activities.
