Hello Guys,

I've recently gained one year of experience in Canada and planning to create Express Entry profile.

My question is, incase if i can manage to get a job offer after submitting my EE profile, can i update it later-on with Job Offer details to claim 50 points ?

Thanks in Advance.

Actually my job comes under LMIA exemption (significant benefit) catageory. I guess i don't require a LMIA.

If it's an LMIA-exempt category then you have to work for that employer for a year and then get a job offer before you are eligible for the 50 points.
What if it is the same employer I am currently working with? I am an reciprocal employment work permit which is also LMIA exempt. Would I need to get the employer to reissue a job offer stating that they would employ me for at least 1 year after PR?

Yes, you need a new job offer that is mandatory.

So I understand, I can ask my current employer to issue a new job offer, even though I am currently employed by them? I am confused because some people have stated that it must be for future employment and cannot be your current job

i am in the same situation but for me i will definitely ask my employer to create me a new letter which clearly states i will be working with them 1 year after getting my PR

as for you question, here it clearly states that when it is lmia exempt it must be from your current employer with whom you already got 1 year experience and willing to give you 1 year after you pr too;

  • if you have a valid work permit for a NOC 0, A or B job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:
    • are currently working for an employer specified on the work permit
    • have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer
    • have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa
who told you it must be for future employment and canoot be yoru current job ?
