HI

I just got rejected for my pgwp. I was a full-time student for most of my schooling but missed 2 semesters due to financial problems from my sponsor. I just received my reply on Aug 2022. I don't know whether to apply for the restoration of status with more info or proof that my sponsor had some problems paying my fees or ask for legal advice from a lawyer.

Also, my application says I have 90 days to apply to restore my status.
Get legal advice.when did you stop studying. You may be already out of status.

Hi! I got my PGWP rejected on July 15, 2022, for "not maintaining a full-time academic status in every academic semester." Initially, I had attached a letter of explanation with an explanation of why I took this one sem (Spring 2021) off due to a medical reason. However, the letter wasn't substantial enough according to the IRCC agent who I spoke with on the phone after the refusal. They looked at my case and realized the rejection may have been incidental and agreed to submit a reconsideration request on my behalf. They also asked me to write a substantial letter of explanation with evidence of why I needed to take Spring 2021 (academic semester) off and send it via a Webform. I did so on August 1, 2022, and got my PGWP approved on August 14, 2022.

It was definitely an emotionally challenging time for me where I would wake up with anxiety and would frantically check my email. However, if you have a strong reason for why you took the semesters you took off (supported by strong evidence), you should not need to worry about not getting a positive response for your reconsideration.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions! :)
Hello, the same thing happened to me. But in my case, I was a full-time student the whole time. I really think they made a mistake. How did you contact them? I have only re applied but I really need my pgwp approved asap
Thanks

Will I be able to provide new documents to support my request? Were you ask to send anything else after you call them ?

Im sorry im asking to many questions

No worries! Ask as many questions as you want. I want to help.
Yes, absolutely you can. You must provide your documents via a web form and select the "additional documents to an existing application" drop-down menu option of the web form. They did ask me to provide more evidence and documents to justify my case better. If you have any further questions, please email me @ faiz.bandeali26@gmail.com

Hi Everyone, I completed my studies on 23rd April 2022. I applied for PGWP on 1st May 2022 and got a rejection letter on 23rd August. The reason was not maintaining full time student status. Whereas I maintained a full time student status. Actually what happened was I failed one course in 2nd semester and retook it and passed that course in 3rd semester that was a co-op semester. In that co-op semester if you do not get a job you can take a course to complete that semester. Thats the only requirement to pass that semester. That only course has 15 credit which is enough for full time status. The only thing which made officer confuse is the course I retook in that semester and passed the college wrote it as part time in official transcript during that semester. Now Please Everyone suggest me what should I Do??
So you weren’t full-time? What did you do during the co-op semester…were you working & retook the course?

Does anyone knows about the step-by-step process for re-application for PGWP? I really need your help.
Since my study permit is already expired, I know that I should apply for restore my status for student. However, I'm not sure about what is the exact process for it.

Option 1, apply for PGWP, pay for PGWP fee and attached the receipts on my restoration of my status for student fee(that means no application form to fill out for student permit restoration)
Option 2, apply for PGWP, and apply for restoration of status as student seperately.

Can anyone knows about what option is correct?

Please what number did you call to speak with an IRCC agent?

The number you provided above (1-800-855-0511 ) is a relay service for the out of hearing and the deaf. It doesn’t get you to IRCC. Please double check the number you provided
