Hi All,
I have a degree in BSc Computing and Information Systems from the Goldsmiths’ College, University of London. This was a distance learning external program. However, I attended an institute locally in Sri Lanka from start to end. This institute has an affiliation with University of London. The degree was technically 3 years long, but the institute offered the option of the 3rd year as a paid internship that I completed. So 4th year was the final year. Unfortunately, I failed an exam in the 4th year and had to resit for it in the next year. This makes my total duration of study as 5 years.
Nevertheless, I applied for ECA with WES and got a positive evaluation that my degree meets the standard of a Canadian university degree of 4 years.
Has anyone else completed their degree through distance learning and received visa without issues or reduction in points? Can I rely on the WES evaluation?
Btw I also have a Masters which I completed in the UK. Not sure if that makes any positive difference.
