I have worked in a full time job but my hours are irregular like 20 hrs per week sometimes and upto 40 hrs some week. How do I calculate in this case? This is just 1 job which is full time and I have completed 1 yr now and earned 1100 hrs approx. in total now. Clarify pls.

That is not full time work then. Full time is working for one year with a minimum of 1,560 hours.

Is this Canadian experience?

Yes it is, I have already get LOE stating that I am working full time in this company for other purposes like applying for health card. The reason for irregular hrs is due to winter as I am working in construction field. I am working as an Estimator in Canada.

If you don’t have 1,560 hours then it is not full-time according to EE guidelines.

Yes but the hrs earned can be used right? Its 1100 for now and I have to work for 3-4 more mnths and claim the hrs. Is that correct?
Yes then you should be able to claim the one year experience. Again for CEC rules are:

  • have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply—you can meet this in a few different ways:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full-time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time work:for example 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
      • You can work as many part-time jobs as you need to meet this requirement.
    • full-time work at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
