SINP - promotion/nomination revision query

Hi, I'm an SINP nominee who has already submitted an online PR application (non-EE) and applied for a closed work permit (using a work permit support letter). Neither of these applications have been approved yet.

My employer last week offered me a promotion - my pay will be higher and my & title will change (NOC looks like it will remain same).

What do I do in terms of telling SINP/IRCC? Do I have to seek nomination revision? Do I have to do anything to my existing PR/work permit applications?

Any thoughts on this? @scylla or @Naturgrl - would be much appreciated. Sorry to tag - I've asked on several places and not even a lawyer knows.

I was also planning to apply for a new closed work permit at the border using the Work Permit Support Letter based on my existing nomination. But if I accept the promotion, is the WPSL still valid for this purpose?

So is the employer the same? Can the employer get an updated WPSL? Not sure if it is valid if pay, title and possibly NOC changes. Have you contacted SINP staff to ask?

Employer is the same. Only change in job title is adding "Senior" to "Campaign Specialist" (so "Senior Campaign Specialist"). Job duties are exactly the same, so presumably the NOC stays the same. Decent pay increase (above median wage for the NOC).

It's the province that provides the WPSL, which I already used to apply for a closed work permit back in March and that application is still in processing. I was hoping to activate at the border this weekend as my status as a worker runs out in October, so I wanted to have surety and simply get it activate at a Port of Entry.

Yes I've contacted SINP staff - it's a case of ask a different person, get a different answer. One agent told me the employer needs to go through the whole ordeal of getting a Job Approval done again, and then me using the updated Job Approval to seek a nomination revision. Another said an immigration officer may simply revise the nomination certificate quickly if the job is essentially the same. They don't know the answer to whether a WPSL is valid if I accept the promotion, which is why I'm hesitant to do so lol.

My employer withdrew the promotion offer and simply awarded me a pay rise. I take it I don't need to tell SINP if only my pay changes? (When I ask SINP, they give me non-sensical, generic answers of going and visiting the web page).

Disregard my above questions. I figured it all out. For anyone in the same boat, here is what you need to know:

If you are a provincial nominee (AINP, SINP etc.) and your Nomination Certificate (NC) is tied to an employer, then you must notify the province immediately of any material changes to your employment. This includes:
  • Promotions/demotions
  • Change of hours
  • Termination of employment/furlough
  • Change of job
  • A wage decrease (yes, you must inform them of a wage decrease as a condition of nomination is that you're earning at least the median wage for that NOC in that area)
  • Change of role and/or NOC, for example you were a software engineer but then later your company made you a web designer. Or you went from marketing to PR
If you fail to notify the province, it is misrepresentation. You may also be working illegally if your job changes but you don't notify the province, as your closed work permit lists working conditions and the job/NOC that you must adhere to. When you notify the province, they will make you and your employer undergo a nomination revision process so that your NC and closed work permit are aligned in terms of everything mentioned above.

When you don't need to notify them:
  • You received a pay rise - but no other details on your NC changed (i.e. title is same, NOC is same, job duties are same)
Cheers,
