How long does it take to receive PR portal link after address confirmation? We got passport request two days ago and submitted web form that parents are in Canada. Visa office is NDVO.

Can anyone advise on the process of application for initial permanent resident card for parents landed in Canada from outside Canada?

Hi Everyone,
My parents got a letter (online) asking to submit passport to Canadian Office where as my parents applied from India. Should I send a webform to explain the misunderstanding and ask them to send it to India visa center?

for sure, you should immediately inform them of your situation. but first take a look at your parent's IRCC secure account (GCkey) to see if your parent's address is OK. hopefully it is OK, then raise a web form and inform them of your situation and mention that your parent's address in GCkey is OK too.

Hello, I had request the admins. earlier to change the status to complete as the process is now complete for my mother. Also, I applied for visa extension on July 4th (Visa expiry was July 5th) since my mother was already in Canada. She became a PR on 27th July. So, what do I do with the visa extension application, it still appear as "Submitted" in mycic @laxsun Thanks.
Congratulations

Hi all:

Please update my timeline in google spreasheet (line520):
- July 7th: Police clearance is requested again
- July17th: Police clearance is done
- July 26th: medical is requested
- July 26th: pre-arrival letter is sent
- August 4ht: Email asking to pay the Right to Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) (replied saying they were already paid and provided receipts; a bit surprising that they don't have a mechanism to track payment)

It seems we are in the final stages (medical is requested gain and hopefully to be don within a week and we received pre-arrival letter). I have two questions and I will appreciate your inputs:

- Biometrics was requested only for my mother (principal applicant) but not for my father. Is that normal? Shall I bug them and ask them to send a request? (in my case, initially, my father was not planning to join and we later changed our mind and added him. We informed them and paid additional fees for my father which included fees for biometric). I don't mind not doing biometric for my father but I don't want it to slow down the application further if it is required. Note that we were asked for few documents after my father was added and biometrics was not one of them.

- What is the validity duration of the visa once they receive it? (i.e., after they get visa stamped on their passport, how long do they have until they need to land)

Hello,
Is anyone else dealing with the Canadian Embassy in Mexico? We applied for my in laws since 2019 June. Did Biometrics Nov 2021 and police clearance Dec 2021---No other communication after that.
I spoke to our MP twice and no other response but stating its in process. I have sent various webforms and have tried so many times to call both here in Canada and in Mexico. No answer. The MP did mention that the file was transferred to MONTREAL; this confused me and she did not elaborate on this. I have also sent out an ATIP form.
Can someone shed some light? or give some other advice.........
Parents are in Havana, Cuba and we were thinking of applying for a Visitor Visa or a SuperVisa but are afraid it might create another delay.
Please HELP.
Thanks,

PR visa is normally valid until one year from the date of medical pass.

Hello everyone.

Hope you are all well & safe.

My timeline:
Invitation Received: April 26, 2019
Application sent: June 16, 2019
Application received in Ottawa: June 18, 2019
AOR: Nov 27, 2019
Biometrics requested: Feb 11, 2020
Biometrics done: February 17, 2020
Application was sent to Mexico for processing: Feb 13, 2020
We are Brazilians and my parents are currently in Brazil.

My questions: is it normal to take so long to receive the medical request? On the tracker, I see that almost everyone has received it already.

Wishing you well,

Greg.
Hi, I was wondering any updates on your parents case? My in laws application is also in MEXICO and the last correspondence was in NOV 2021-asking for police clearance. They never asked for a medical yet.
This is so frustrating.
Thanks,

Thanks,
When your MP says transfer to Montreal believe her, same thing happened to my parents file. They ignored all requests for updates by all means, email, webform, gcms notes but they communicated on their own. They transfer files on workload basis. I hope soon you will get email from Montreal. Super visa will not harm your case rather may help. In my case i cannot say for sure whether supervisa has helped or turn in queue is reason for the file movement. But its my gut feeling that soon your file will get wheels because cases of pgp-19 are beyond maximum time boundry therefore they have shifted to Montreal. Good luck
