Hi, members,

Any idea on which month applications are being processed? Also, my son's visitor visa is applied through the representative portal. Will there be any difference in applying it from the normal website?

Applications are processed at random. Some are waiting months for a result, some receive it in 1-4 months, and some in 10-20 days also. There's no such thing as a representative portal. They basically create their account and file applications via that, and get you to sign a IMM5476 form to authorize a representative. Even if you apply, you're using the same link. What is the timelines of your son's visitor visa? And why is your son applying for visitor visa? Where are you and where is he applying from?

I am currently working in Canada on a CWP. My wife got her OWP along with mine. Later we had a baby boy and applied for his VISA from India on April 03, 2022. There has been no update since then. I was wanting to know if there is any timeline that I can look for, to get his visa approved.

Technically processing times are around 160 days but this is just an estimate and we are seeing many cases here where it's taking longer. Unfortunately it's very hard to guess how much longer you may be waiting.

It's going to be a difficult one. TRV's are designed where you have to prove the person will go back, and since the baby has stronger ties with you and your husband here in Canada, not sure how visa officer will see this.

You are coming close to the processing time mark, so you could see an update come through sometime this month

The application is submitted by my representative and it's a visitor visa without a condition to go back [some kind of document would be given at the immigration is what he mentioned]. We weren't able to submit any other type of application as he is a months baby. Some of my colleagues got their kid's visa's approved in the same manner - but the kid's visas got processed along with their application.

Also, the review eligibility says - "Your application is in process. We will send you a message once we start reviewing your eligibility". Any idea what this means?

They haven't started reviewing eligibility. BUT - don't hold your breath, because there are times, when this status does NOT change for some, and all of a sudden, they'll receive a notification and on account you'll see "Eligibility completed - [date]" , Background completed [date] etc.. and you'll receive PPR info and BVL info at the same time same day... so don't worry - the system is flawed.. can just play it by the year

Thanks for your great input! Really appreciate it!

I applied on July 28th and they started my eligibility review today (student with a pending PGWP application and a valid SP).
