PGWP Expiring

Hello People,

My PGWP is going to expire next month and the Immigration MP announced in April 2022 that Canada Immigration is going to extent PGWP to another 18 months and the details how to apply will be available from mid June 2022. But still nothing came out regarding PGWP extension. I put my profile into the Express Entry pool with 479 points and waiting for the draw (which I expect will not pick my score before my PGWP expire).

I cannot apply for a regular open work permit extension because when I try to apply for Work permit through my IRCC account, it is asking me for a valid LMIA or if change my answers a bit - it is thinking that I am applying form outside Canada and asking for additional supporting documents. I cannot apply for Bridge Work Permit because I did not get an ITA.

Any suggestions to keep my status active/legal because I got a new job recently and I think that my new company will not provide me with a LMIA. I am guessing that I should not or cannot work with an expired PWGP.

Any one with the similar situation?

Good news for you. This notification was released today that from next Monday onwards students will start getting emails from IRCC for the extension.
